Four specifications do: magnitude in g-force, frequency in hertz, vertical displacement in millimeters, and whether the machine sets those values or leaves them to you. The Micro-Impact Platform® is registered with the FDA as a Class I device for exercise and rehabilitation, and low-magnitude mechanical stimulation at these parameters has been examined in published studies in both pediatric and older-adult populations. The output ceiling is fixed in the hardware rather than selected by the user, so the delivered signal stays at 0.3–0.4g for everyone — there is nothing to turn up. It should not be used during pregnancy, or by anyone with a history of deep vein thrombosis or pre-existing retinal detachment. Talk with your physician before beginning.

It isn't a replacement for walking — it's the version that never gets cancelled. Walking loads the skeleton, but only at whatever frequency and consistency your day happens to produce, and for most people past 45 that's less than it used to be. The Juvent 1000N and the Juvent PRO HD each carry a ten-year limited warranty. The Juvent Clinical HD with ASSIST carries a three-year commercial warranty. A factory certified refurbished 1000N carries a three-year limited warranty. Most machines in this category carry one to two years. Expected service life is 20+ years with no recalibration, consumables, or subscription, and service is performed in Tennessee, so a unit never leaves the country to be repaired.
